biography
Jadielson dos Santos Lima, the artist known as
Branco, was born in 1987 in the city of Penedo
(Brazil).
Self-taught, his approach to the world of painting was completely casual; at 15 he reached Sao Paulo in search of his mother who had moved there for work when he was still very young and while he was working as a parking attendant he came across the artist Tonico Mendonca who introduced him to painting.
Branco's stylistic code, the result of an extremely personal feeling that finds expression precisely in painting, leads the artist to create a sort of internal diary, without any look at what happens in the world of art: archetypal images alternating with forms abstracts, graphics, invented figures characterize the canvases with their simple but immediate and imaginative expressive power.
Some of Branco's canvases were selected for the national pavilion of Cameroon on the occasion of the 60th International Art Exhibition 2024 - the Venice Biennale Branco is present in many private collections in Italy and abroad.
